Major International and the Craft Guild of Chefs annual Major Series is one of the longest running young chef competitions in the UK and gives students of varying skill levels the chance to experience the competition arena first hand. A chance to build new skills, gain confidence and get a taste for the heat of the kitchen, the regional heats take place at colleges around the country throughout the year and the winners from the top class in each heat go on to compete for the Major Series Trophy at either Hotelympia or The Foodservice Show!
“Today the Major Series is seen as one of the UK’s premier young chef competitions and is a great way to encourage creativity and showcase your skills. The standard is improving every year and I’m always amazed by the innovative ways the students use the Major products,” comments David Bryant, Managing Director, Major International.
“We’re incredibly lucky to have a team of fantastic colleges on board who welcome us back every year and hard working lecturers who encourage their students to compete. It’s an invaluable experience for the students and with some exciting new opportunities coming this year, we can’t wait to see what they bring to the table,” says Wayne Harris, Chairman of the Judges for the Craft Guild of Chefs.
